Harry Potter

I just wanted to write that I am the happiest trainee in the world right now because I am holding my own copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in my hand. I love you Emma, you're the best sister in the world! Thank you thank you thank you!

Dear Griffis gals,
This is so.... funny, I'm laughing now as much as I have since Annabelle left from CLT! Emma, you are a good sissy. Anna don't stay up all night reading!
Love, mom

Good for you, Emma, and good for you, Anna! For the record, Uncle Charlie Francis and I sent a box of goodies yesterday ~ our concern being that it gets to you intact. Thankfully I had not mailed it before getting your new address. Interestingly, the postage cost far more than the contents! Loved gathering the items to fill the box, and hope you find them useful.
Love ya, Awa!

Woo hoo! You'll have to let me know what you think about it once you're done. I also am getting together something to send to you, but I might wait a couple of weeks now and send it to your new address so that you'll be there already when it arrives. Like your mom said, try to get a little sleep anyway, even though I know its hard to put Harry Potter down once you get into it.

Hope you're still doing well, I need to hear of some more adventures, seeing that I am still stuck in Maggie Valley and having to live vicariously through you. Have a wonderful week, and enjoy reading about Ron and Harry!

I am so happy you got the book from Emma. She is a good girl just like you. Read it very slow so that it will last longer. Isn`t that the last one? I have you a box about ready to send but because you just got one I will wait untill I get out of the hospital and from my daughtes(about 3 weeks) and then send it. Suz gave me your new address. I love reading about all that you are doing and I am so proud of you for being able to adapt to all of the strange ways of Mali. Enjoy your book love grandbobbie

Anna I'm so happy you got that...I was actually worried about that the other day. I hope it's all you expected. Love you sweetie!

Anna, we had a wonderful Labor Day weekend at the creek. Emma and Alex came Friday evening and stayed through Monday. We missed you so much! We wondered if you had a Labor Day in Mali. I returned to Hickory Saturday evening for Sunday worship. Later Sunday afternoon, I drove back to the creek. We hiked nearly four hours Monday and swam in the large swimming hole up from the house. I finally ran at the creek -- twice (Friday and Sunday). I didn't have any problems with my strained calf muscle. All is going well at church. I'm enjoying being here. That's it for now. Can't wait to hear from you. Much love, Daddy

Dear Awa,
It's Saturday morning. Mom and I have had our weekly diet of whole wheat waffles fortified with wheat germ, wheat bran, and pecans. I've completed my daily Bible study (just over an hour). Guess what? I found the Lowes gift cards missing since the move. Mom and I decided to look for them this morning (though we've looked here and there before). While putting away my hair dryer, I thought I'll look through the toiletry baskets in the bathroom closet. The cards were at the bottom of one of the containers where I had put them the day or two before we moved. I'll sure I said to myself, "I'll remember them here!" How soon I forget! This afternoon, we'll go to the YMCA for a workout. Then we're off to the home of a couple church members for a swim and picnic with their guests. Oh, you just received a letter from the deGrandry in France. Mom will forward it to you. That's it. We love and miss you. The pictures we continue to enjoy. Much love, Daddy
